The Gypsy Rebels

Artword Artbar, 15 Colbourne Street , Hamilton

Friday December 4, 2015, at 8 pm, $15 (call 905-543-8512). The incredible Gypsy singer-songwriter Micheal T. Butch is back at Artword Artbar, with his full band The Gypsy Rebels. Band members: Micheal T. Butch guitar and lead vocals, Steve Evans trumpet, Alfred Gertler stand-up bass, Dudu Rotash accordion and backup vocals, and a violinist. Micheal T Butch founded The Gypsy Rebels in 2005 with the dream of bringing the traditional Gypsy repertoire he learned from his parents and grandparents to a wider audience here in Canada. His goal is not only to keep the music of his ancestors alive, but also to add a new dimension to each song with original arrangements and a unique reggae, funk, and soul sound. Micheal is also an accomplished songwriter who sings from the heart about his passions, his philosophies, and his way of life. The Gypsy Rebels fully support the important work being done on behalf of the Roma Gypsies by the Roma Community Centre, and in turn, thank them for their ongoing support.

Upcoming Gigs

Welcome one and all!

We're a Toronto-based Gypsy Band that features a repertoire of traditional Gypsy music mixed with elements of Reggae, Funk, R'n'B, and Soul. Acoustic guitar, upright bass, accordion, violin, and trumpet all support Micheal's vocals in a unique blend of music. We play both traditional Roma Gypsy songs and and original songs composed by Micheal T Butch.
